Kim’s Catch: Sammydress.com

Many bargain shoppers looking for cheap prices on trendy clothing and apparel are feeling cheated by online retailer Sammydress.com. While you’ll find attractive ads on Facebook and other online outlets, many customers are complaining they’ve been duped by the company. Of the numerous complaints received by BCA, customers typically allege the sizes are grossly misrepresented, the items are of poor quality, and many wait months to get their items, if they receive anything at all.

A quick search for Sammydress.com reviews reveals more complaining consumers, some so upset that they have started scam pages for the business to air their grievances. With complaints mounting up alleging misrepresentation, non-delivery, inaccurate orders and more, the company continues to advertise and solicit orders. But what about the dissatisfied customers? Well, some receive partial or full refunds, or their orders finally get delivered, while others are left without answers. Countless consumers have tried to reach the company by phone, email, online support, and chat, to no avail. To date, the company that claims on their website to provide “a class-leading customer service experience” has failed to respond to the majority of their BCA complaints.

F-rated Sammydress.com’s contact us displays a California based phone number, but it appears the company is really based out of China. Their web domain is registered to a Beijing based company, Hichina Zhicheng Technology, LTD, that has other registered websites that offer discounted items and also have similar complaints.

Kim’s Advice:  There is always a risk when ordering items online. Unlike traditional stores where you can go in, view and try on the merchandise, when shopping online you are left to relying on the company’s advertising and information they provide. Vigilant consumers do well to check BCA before they pay. Obtaining a report on the company and viewing what actual customers have to say about the products and services gives an inside view of what you may expect from the business. If you see a pattern of complaints that the company doesn’t deliver, or claims of false advertising and unfulfilled services, those red flags may be a clear warning to spend your dollars elsewhere.

One of the common complaints we hear is about the inaccurate sizing on Sammydress.com. Unfortunately, it is the company’s policy to not accept returns or provide refunds for items that are the wrong size. Knowing a company’s policy on warranties, returns, and refunds is an important factor in being a savvy consumer. Always check this out before placing an order.

If you are considering shopping with a company that you have not shopped with before, try making a small purchase using a credit card. This can give you an idea of what the company offers and also gives you an opportunity to see how soon the company fulfills its orders, the quality of the merchandise, and if there are any inconsistencies between what is advertised and what you receive. If you do not receive the order or there is a problem, you may be able to dispute the charge.
