If the dentist office does not reply on my complaint what is my next step?

Hello Rita. Good Afternoon. In the event that the dental office does not respond to your complaint, I suggest that you follow-up with the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division: https://www.oag.state.va.us/consumer-protection/index.php/file-a-complaint The Virginia Board of Dentistry may be able to offer additional assistance or recommendations: https://www.dhp.virginia.gov/PractitionerResources/Enforcement/FileaComplaint/ To contact the Enforcement Division call 1-800-533-1560 or (804) 367-4691.

It is worth noting that due to the HIPPA Privacy Rule, medical and dental offices are limited to the amount of information they disclose to a third party.

As of today, 10/09, we have not received a response from the dental office. However, they are still within their timeframe to respond. Please keep the above resources at hand should you have to pursue further action.
