Is NOAH or the National Organization for the Assistance of Homeowners legitimate or a scam?

Date: 6/29/2013 4:25 PM (PST)

Does anyone recently have any experience with NOAH (National Organization for the Assistance of Homeowners) aka Twin Builders Foundation Corporation, aka HPG aka Financial Wellness for Homeowners and who knows what other names and addresses. I have not had anything but problems with this company, who supposedly fights for our rights as homeowner’s against our lenders. They have filed all kinds of legal action including numerous lawsuits in my name or in group settings and all they do is let them get dismissed. I have spent over $8,000. My house was sold over a year ago and I am still in the house but Fannie Mae is taking legal action against me to take me out and NOAH is not returning my calls. Now they have some attorney who is using their address and telephone numbers representing me but I can’t get her to call me and I am getting served legal papers. Is this legitimate?

Ernie, Financial Wellness for Homeowners of Los Angeles County has an F rating due to their nature of business and recent government action against them for providing services without the proper dept of real estate licensure. We are interested in reviewing your complaint. Please email me at mlopez@businessconsumeralliance.org with details.

Ernie, You gave me a lot of information and from what I found, Peter Nisson of The Law Offices of Nisson, Voss and Associates has some disciplinary actions against him with the California State Bar (http://members.calbar.ca.gov/fal/Member/Detail/62276 ) and there is a lot of negative information about NOAH out there. I will continue my review and keep you posted.

Please let me know. I have advised them that the most recent lawsuit they filed on my behalf is based on erroneous information and they don't seem to care. They are now using another attorney and I have not been able to talk to anyone associated with this law firm. Either way, NOAH is providing legal services and they are not attorneys. Would this be something the State Bar would be interested in? Your thoughts, as I am about to lose my money and my home.

I will keep you posted and I would urge you to contact the CA Attorney Generals office at http://oag.ca.gov/contact to file a complaint with them as well. It may take them a while to put your documents together so you may want to get the ball rolling with them too.

What do you think?
