This company let my husband get a payday loan on my paycheck without my permission. Can they do that?
Hello Christal. Good Afternoon. To answer your question, of course it is not okay for a company to issue a payday loan to someone using another person’s information. My question would be how did your husband apply for the loan? Did he apply for the loan online or in person? You should contact the payday loan company immediately and advise that this loan was fraudulently opened without your consent. It will not be an easy process, but it must go on record that you are challenging the loan and do not want to be held financially responsible for paying it back. It would be a good idea to obtain a current copy of your credit report to make sure there are no other accounts opened up in your name that you did not authorize. Unfortunately, in this day and age, applying for a payday loan online is not a difficult process if you have the minimal information necessary to get funded. There are further steps you can take, such as filing a police report but this would be up to you to pursue. Christal, I hope this information has been helpful. Please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. if I can be of further assistance.
