What can I do?

Date: 2/13/2020 6:19 AM (PST)

My roommate had internet hooked up in her name. Because I was using the internet as well I paid a couple of the bills because she was waiting for her disability to kick in. When we were both moving I took her equipment to Xfinity and turned it in. I also put an account in my name and was moving out of state with my equipment that they gave me that day. When I got my SSI check they took money from my account to pay off my roommates old bill. When I had returned the equipment they said that they did not keep my card on file but apparently they did. Now I am overdrawn in my bank and there's a payday loan that I'm not able to pay back. I'm also not going to Via to Ford my first bill which is due the 17th of this month. I disputed it with my bank and also with Xfinity. Xfinity said that they would not give me back that money and I still have not gotten a decision from the bank yet. That's going to be at least three hits on my credit score plus I'm going to be in major. So when my money comes in this month I'm not even going to be able to pay my rent. This is leaving me very distressed and depressed. I also I'm going to have to go in for heart surgery because my pacemaker is not acting right. I really dispute with the Better Business Bureau but I don't know what else I can do. All I was trying to do was help another person out but they were not supposed to keep my credit card on file it's my debit card that they took the money from. What can I do?

Hello Tina Marie. We filed your complaint against Xfinity just yesterday, on February 12th. A confirmation email was sent to you that contained your complaint id number for your records.

We allow 21 business days for a company to respond to a complaint. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to pursue further action. The company has a poor track record of responding to complaints through our office. In a span of three years, we have processed 748 complaints and 735 out of 748 complaints were not answered. You can view the complaints received in our office by simply clicking on the View Complaints button on the company's Reputation Report:

I recommend contacting the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC regulates tv, phone, radio and internet providers. To file a complaint with the FCC, please click on this link to their Consumer Complaint Center:

I hope this information is helpful. I can be reached directly at if you have additional questions or concerns.
