How do I go fwd responsibly

I saw an ad on Facebook marketplace selling a product and I thought since it was all over the marketplace and mostly all the reviews were averaging right between good and bad that it would be safe to order and track it. I paid extra for fast delivery & they said they sent it immediately. I followed the link with tracking number and they had it delivered to my home by Jan. 5th. I told them they never delivered anything to me. Their response is I'm sorry dear your order is still in transit on Jan.7th. I told them I can be patient but they LIED in my tracking report. No response then I asked for A refund of the money I paid for fast shipping and no reply. The company name is Cocoddy and their customer service email is cocoddy@treadblue.com What do I do next? THat is everything I have on the company other than the fact that facebook thought they were okay.

Hello Rebecca. Many of our readers will relate because we have all seen those ads at what time or another and we know how enticing they can be. No matter the social media account, i.e., Facebook, Instagram, the ads pop up everywhere. However, it is important to remember that when you are heavily considering making a purchase online and you’re unfamiliar with the business, Google them. Simply type the name of the business followed by complaint or review or scam and see what your search brings up. I conducted a search with the email address you provided in your post, cocoddy@treadblue.com and I found many negative reviews online. It also appears the company is located in Hong Kong, which will complicate matters.

Filing a complaint may help. I recommend filing a complaint with www.econsumer.gov. They accepts reports of international scams online. I also recommend filing a complaint with our office.
