Pay Pal dispute.

Date: 11/26/2019 3:48 PM (PST)

I’m having a paypal dispute over a bicycle I sold to someone in another state. The buyer chose the method of shipping and advised me how to ship it. The bike ended up damaged in shipping and the buyer filed a insurance claim with Bikeflights.A week later the buyer informed the claim was declined.I sold him the bike for $390.00. He wanted $275.00 for damages. We could not come to a agreement. The buyer filed a claim with PayPal for $275.00. PayPal gave me ten days to respond . I responded in four days stating to them I disagree with that amount.I made a offer to settle for half of that amount. After approximately five calls with them saying they awarded buyer full amount and me complaining they notified my wife via email stating the buyer accepted my offer. Then they went back on their decision for the $275.00 for the buyer.I called to complain and realized that they retracted the email.I went back and forth with them for two weeks the deal was on and the deal was off.On November 24 they paid the buyer the full amount.I was advised to try make a payment using a Visa gift card which was not accepted.I offered to take partial responsibility by offering $137.50. PayPal put me threw with their decision making. This not fair. They over paid the buyer. PayPal order #. PP D 45089749. They did tell me twice that the buyer accepted my offer twice on the phone.

Hello Dan. I’m sorry to hear of your unfortunate situation with Paypal. To be completely honest with you, it’s hard to challenge or overturn a decision made by companies such as Paypal. We have contacted them numerous times with complaints and the typical response we receive is they do not comment on specifics of a case with a third party and that they will reach out to their customer directly. I suggest contacting the Department of Consumer Affairs here in California. They may be able to offer additional assistance.
