What do you want from a retirement community? Well, you want security, nice accommodations, good food ... I could go on. A lot of places have that. When we started looking, we were living on the coast in El Segundo, CA. I was not interested in the Inland Empire as an area for retiring. But, as I looked around, I found that communities in the coastal areas could not compete on cost. And Altavita Village is a full-blown community with continuing care and all kinds of options as to what one wants to do. MOST OF ALL, I have to say that -- when we moved from PA to CA back in 1988, after several weeks in our new house, I finally went up and down the street introducing myself. Almost no one came to welcome us to the community into which we had moved. Altavita Village opened up its doors to the general public several years ago, but before that, if was a community that catered to military veterans. Those are a kind of people that have moved around and are in the habit of welcoming and being welcomed into each place in which they reside. Those are the people that live in Altavita Village. Looking for a place to retire and have the security of continuing care? And need I mention a community of instant friendship? Come and check the place. It is one of the best. My friends, who looked closer at the money end than I did, say that you can't beat the facilities when comparing cost. For me, I came because the people are so good!
