Required cash only when I tried to purchase a 50.00 Visa Gift Card at this Store
I would like the Business Consumer Alliance to look into the Policy at the Dollar General Store on Galvin Rd. In Bellevue Nebraska that required cash only when I tried to purchase a 50.00 Visa Gift Card at this Store. I questioned this after I was told on Thursday 19 April 2018 by the cashier when she called the manager who agreed that I could not purchase a 50.00 Visa gift card if I could not pay with cash. I explained that I did not carry the cash and wanted to use a Wells Fargo Bank Debit Card. I was still denied the use of my card and the purchase needed. I left the store upset. Yesterday, I spoke with the General Dollar District Manager Scott.at 402-838-1005. He said this was the practice and said they needed cash only due to loss and mentioned a Green dot card. Which I do not know what this meant. But I explained as a customer I did not receive the Gift Card due to denying me the purchase when wanting to pay with my Debit Card. I told him that Visa Cards Franchise should be made aware if this is the Store Policy which is not good. I called Visa cards on the 19th to inform of the General Dollar Store #2749 not allowing Customers to pay for a Visa Gift Card if the customer does not have Cash Money. Please assist with the customer service and policy reasoning provided when I tried purchasing a Visa Gift Card at this Business Location. The General Dollar denial of a tender for purchasing leads to a customer service issue in this Store. Bad Business
