I would not recommend HelloTech to anyone. It wasn't just that the technician couldn't do the job, it was their response to the issue.
I chose HelloTech as an alternative to Geek Squad based on what their website claims is within their capabilities. I had network issues in my home and I needed HelloTech to come out and create a more efficient and productive network, e.g. hook up my devices in a manner they would produce a better signal throughout our house. I took time off of work to meet the technician and be at the house while he worked. It took the technician 10 minutes to tell me he needed to call another technician, because my problem was above his head. This is my basic setup: Internet into house into Xfinity XB6 - hardwired through control panel for connection to second level - Xfinity pods - in addition to that Xfinity mesh network, I also had an AC3200 Nighthawk acting as a repeater (I think, since I know very little about all of this) and another Netgear router acting as another repeater, both of them were hard wired to second floor. Signal was ok, but not great. I purchased an Orbi to try to pair down devices and increase signal. That is what HelloTech said they couldn't do. After HelloTech poor service, I researched on Google and hooked it all up boosting my signal from 60 Mbps per room to 250 Mbps avg per room of a 4900 Sqft house. Extremely disappointed in HelloTech's response to my situation, which seemed simple and ended up being simple for a layman. 1.5 hours from work cost me 45. I would not recommend HelloTech to anyone.
