Customer Complaint

The company was hired by Levin's Furniture to deliver my couch. There were two men, the first one walked into my house without introducing himself and just started walking around, he didn't ask if he could wear shoes nor was he worried about getting dirt everywhere. He continued to give himself a tour of my first floor with out asking and than eventually asked where the couch was going. I explained to him that it was going in the basement. Prior to moving anything in the house he proceeded to snoop though my garage without permission asking me I was getting rid of a TV or a deep freezer, I explained no and he said to let him know now while he has a truck. Before taking the couch in the basement they asked me to sign a piece of paper and said it was for the furniture and to see it wasn't damaged upon delivery I assumed it was to except the delivery so I signed they did not explain what it was. While moving the couch downstairs they put a hole in my wall and scratched the adjacent wall. They both personally told me that the paper I signed was I'm fact a wavier stating the hold no responsibility for damages to my property. But the two men also admitted that it would be fixed and it comes out of their check. The owner called me directly and all he had to say was I signed a wavier and it wasn't his responsibility to fix it. Which might be true but I assured him that he need to inform his customers on what they're signing ( yes I should've read it ). The owner offered me 50$ Resolution Sought Pay for paint and to have the hole patched and fixed properly

Company Response

I spoke to the customer regarding his complaint. After further review it had been found that the customer was notified of possible force entry to get the item into his basement. The drivers supplied the customer with our liability release waiver which was signed dated and time stamped by the customer before the drivers attempted to get the sofa into the basement. The customer explained to me that he did not take the proper time to read over the waiver. I explained to him that unfortunately under the circumstances since the drivers used proper protocol and had a damage release waiver signed before attempting the force entry we could not cover any expenses related to the repair of his wall. Customer was upset, after using some profanity he said he would fix his own wall and hung up the phone on me.
