    Company is preying on people and accessing information inappropriately.

    I have spent the better of a day and a half trying to activate a gift card that I had purchased for a friend of mine. He returned the card to me because when calling to activate the card a computer generated voice requests your social security number. He refused to give that information. I don not believe it is appropriate to ask for the SS#. After the card was returned to me , I proceeded to call and try to speak with a representative. This is not possible. I then emailed the company as they have an email address to activate on line. Again it was not possible to speak with anyone, just again requesting a SS#. Finally about an hour ago I listened to all the options, more carefully, and used the option of not having a SS#. A live person answered, and after much discussion was told I did not need SS# to use the card for goods purchases only. According to policy I will be charged 1 to 2 dollars per purchase. On the back of this card, in the smallest print possible is a whole list of various fee charges. I purchased this card by accident, thinking all Visa cards were the same. Investigate this company and remove them from the market as it is preying on people and accessing information inappropriately. Not being able to connect with a representative is inexcusable and only being able to do so is to say "I don't have a SS#. Is wrong. Please pursue this matter. I am also going to speak with the business I purchased this card from.

    Very unsatisfied!

    Please beware don't buy visa debit card! It's a Scam they got all my personal information including social security and refused to activate card. I had to get services with Ellie to get a refund of my cash. They should not sell this cards if they cannot be activated like other prepaid cards.

    I believe there is something shady going on with netspend.

    So I'm a metaphor card holder, and I keep having to call them about letting people steal from me. I called them about my money, which I made to wait and wait for refund. I reported my report on 04/29/2018, at which time they only put in to give back only one and on May theirs I called again to complain were I found out I had to put in and wait 45 days. I believe there are some shade on goings with netspend and it needs to be shut down or at least investigated.

    Bad customer service

    Had a problem with them giving bad information. When I ask to speak to a supervisor I was on hold for hour and have, was hung up on several of times and I was given different information each time even from the supervisor! They don't take care of there customers!
