DO NOT BUY FROM NEWEGG!!

DO NOT BUY FROM NEWEGG.COM!! I have been a long time customer and even order most of my parts for work from Newegg, and have NEVER had a problem; that is until you need to send something back!! As the people that I have tagged in this post (also fellow NewEggers know I am OCD about anything I buy and always take pictures for documentation and insurance purposes (that "ca door dent" incident). Anyway, I had to return a motherboard because it would not post. I didn't blame Newegg because as we all know sometime you get bad parts, but was disappointed I would have to wait another week to get my PC built. Well today I got email from Newegg stating that my return had been declined, and I was dumbfounded why, so I called. I spoke to a great customer service rep whom told me that the returns department stated that there was "significant damage to the CPU socket" but that he could escalate this issue to his supervisor. Before talking to the supervisor I was told that I could provide pictured evidence that there was no damage, I sent him time stamped pictures of closeups of the CPU Socket in question and he agreed that there appeared to be no damage and that his supervisor could approve the return. As I stated earlier the customer service agent was wonderful, so I figured the supervisor would be as well. Come to find out he was probably the rudest "supervisor" I have ever spoken with and started out accusatory stating that I must have caused the damage. I work in the industry and have built god knows how many machines. He stated that he needed to talk to the returns department, but they were closed this is at 7ish pm EST btw, and that he couldn't even review my case until next TUESDAY!! That means I have to wait at least another week before I can expect my motherboard. When I asked to speak to his manager he said that I could not after asking 4 times. I will be posting the pictures of the CPU Socket on my fackbook page for all that are interested, they clearly show no signs of damage (ignore the feet in one pic). Also after doing some research online I found this website. Apparently Newegg will damage the motherboard and decline the return so that they do not loose money on the board, because the manufacturer will not refund them. I was surprised of the horror stories on the site, some of them even recorded them packing the motherboard with clearly no damage. I find this outrageous and down right dirty. If true, I will be encouraging my friends and colleagues to purchase elsewhere. Please feel free to comment on this post, and Newegg if you would like to clairfy your practices or chime in my RMA is 28164267, if you can not view the pictures I have posted on my Facebook, I would be more than happy to send them to you, or you can ask the customer Service Supervisor
