Very Poor customer service!!
I am a older white lady and i was In staples yesterday trying to print out a label at the self service area but I was having difficulties with my phone and printing out the label so I asked this gentleman for help so he proceeded to help me but in the process of helping me an older black lady asked him to help so while I was getting my phone to pull up the information I needed to print out he left me and went to help her until she was finished and got the help she was finished faxing her paperwork. He then went back to the canter so I asked was he going to finish helping me he said no that it was self help area and he didn't have to and in my opinion because I was white and he was black he didn't need to help or want to help Mr but when the black lady needed help it was OK to leave from going to help me to help til she got what she need done I then proceeded to tell the manager what happened and he just looked me as if something was wrong with me. I left out of the staple store in Pikesville so angry and humiliated that I couldn't get the help I needed or at least a proper apology. Be more helpful to All their customers not just the ones they want to me this employee me feel that he didn't want to help ME because I was white. I'm not saying all their employees are like that just this one black gentleman cause every time I'm in the staples in Pikesville MD and I ask this same gentleman for help he is always very rude to me I wish there was another place to go for me to print

I witnessed a clerk yelling at a senior citizen.
On May 11th I witnessed a clerk yelling at a senior citizen. The elderly lady explained the tone he was using was offensive. The clerk proudly stated I talk like this to everybody. He continued to confront the elderly woman. The lady apologized and she did nothing wrong. It was hard to concentrate on making my business cards after witnessing this altercation. Training in hospitality is needed. I asked the elderly lady if she was alright and she said " no". I gave her my name and phone number and the number to the corporate office of Staples. This Staples is located in Chestnut Hill at 7700 Germantown Avenue Philadelphia PA. The clerk was a white heavy set man with light hair. He needs to be taught how to communicate with customers respectfully. Another clerk eventually intervened and politely assisted the consumer. As a certified Social Worked who worked with abuse and neglect cases I recognize verbal abuse when I see and hear it. This clerk was verbally abusing an elderly woman. I left a message with the office of resources for Staples. I am asking For compensation as this clerk disrespected everybody in the store as he created a scene. A monetary reward will assure the issue is addressed in a timely manner. Thank you. .
