Good Morning. Thank you for your question. I feel like there is missing information. In general, car dealers will check your credit to learn about your current financial status. Running your credit will help the dealer determine which cars you can afford. Was there a contract created for the purchase of the vehicle in question? And was it signed?

Allegations of fraud and wrong doing by a dealer can be reported to the Oregon Department of Justice (ODOJ). Their consumer hotline number is 1-877-877-9392 or you can file a complaint here: https://justice.oregon.gov/consumercomplaints/OnlineComplaints/OnlineComplaintForm/en
For your review, I am including a link to the ODOJ guide on buying a vehicle: https://www.doj.state.or.us/consumer-protection/motor-vehicles/buying-a-vehicle/

Business Consumer Alliance (BCA) is also willing to contact the dealership on your behalf. We’ll contact the dealer and ask that they address the allegations in the complaint. As soon as we receive correspondence back from the dealer you will be notified. Filing a complaint with BCA is quick, simple and FREE: https://www.checkbca.org/file-complaint

I hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at vantillon@checkbca.org if I can be of further assistance.
