Good Morning Randy. Thank you for contacting Business Consumer Alliance. In your post, you state that you’ve already reached out to your local authorities for assistance, and you still are without your service animal.

To escalate this, you can reach out to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for assistance. The DOJ implemented and regulates the American with Disabilities Act (ADA): https://www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm

Some State and local laws also define service animal more broadly than the ADA does, and information about such laws can be obtained from your State Attorney General’s office.

For more information about the ADA, please visit www.ADA.gov or call their information line at 800-514-0301 where you can speak with an ADA specialist.

Randy, I hope this information is helpful and I hope that you find the assistance you are searching for. Please feel free to contact me directly at vantillon@checkbca.org if I can be of further assistance.
