I feel like they need to get better reception is it have better communication when it comes to patients insurance companies and the doctor

My insurance company Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Tennessee saying that they sent Atrium health a email letting them know that I needed more information about the documents that I sent them that was on June 25th and my surgery date was scheduled for July 17th. well I went through thinking everything was fine went to my pre-op appointment which was the 26th the day of my surgery nobody called me to let me know that my insurance have said that they needed more information. When I called they told me everything was fine they didn't see any other emails from my insurance company and that was the week after the 25th. Well today which is the 17th I get up there to have my surgery and they tell me that my surgery has been canceled due to my insurance. Well I called my insurance and my insurance relay the message to me that they had sent the doctor an email letting them know that they needed more information or another letter but nobody told me. When I talked to the lady the lady said well I tried to call you several times no she didn't I talk to her on last Monday which was the 15th and she told me everything was fine she even told me how much of the surgery my insurance was going to cover and like I said I went to my pre-op appointment like nothing was going on everything was fine with my insurance pay for the pre-op appointment. I would like to be reimbursed for my hotel stay considering that the doctor's office did not call me to let me know that my surgery has been cancelled.
