I would like for them to get a better Dr. that cares about their patients and not just discharging them!

    Posted on 7/23/2019

I went there to have my right leg checked out I have Neurofibromatosis and my leg is affected by it and I have been having pain in it upon my arrival my b/p was 167/117 they did not give me anything to bring it down they Dr. came back in not even 10 minutes later with my discharge papers and my x-ray results saying nothing was wrong rechecked my b/p and it was 157/111 still did not give me anything to help bring it down and discharged me. I thought x-rays or labs take at least 30 minutes to an hour I feel like they should have given me at least something for my b/p cause I do have a stent and I could have had a stroke for them just discharging me and not help bring it down. My leg still is in a lot of pain I know something is wrong my leg has never in my life hurt like this and not go away. The admitting Dr. name was Wilson, Samuel. I went to Barstow Hospital on 7/20/2019. I would like for them to get a better Dr. that cares about their patients and not just discharging them when their b/p is high like that and can have a stroke really quick especially with a stent already in their heart

Speak to your staff about being polite, compassionate and caring.

    Posted on 5/29/2019

My husband has been admitted in this hospital since Friday May 24th. Most of the staff that we have met have been so rude. Including the surgeon Dr. Santos. Very insensitive and no bedside manner. With the exception of maybe 3 nurses who were very helpful and nice. The first meeting with Dr Santos, my husband was crying and in pain and he laughingly asked him. "Are you crying? Why are you crying?". After we first came into the room his first nurse said "you had laparoscopic surgery only 3 little cuts. I don't know why you're complaining so much." My husband has been hurting with pain the whole time he has been here. The only nurses to ease our minds at all with any compassion were Liz, Katelyn, Noelani and Sarah. I asked for an extra gown for my husband at the nurses station, there were no nurses there and a man was there so I asked him for an extra gown. He nodded his head behind him and said ask a nurse please. Didn't even bother to try to help after I told him there were no nurses there. This has been a very stressful few days for myself and my husband as it is for any family involving a surgery. People should be a little more polite and caring. Speak to your staff about being polite, compassionate and caring. I can't believe the difference from this ward and the labor and delivery. Every single person in the ob ward was absolutely amazing when I had my baby. Most of the people here are so rude and insensitive in a fragile time in peoples lives.

These types of incidents reflect poorly on the nursing profession, the health care facility and the medical community

    Posted on 3/25/2019

My wife has been a patient since 3/18/2019. To date all of the employees have been courteous, caring and attentive. Me and my daughter spend 12 hours a day with my wife and assist in every way we can. Today at 0835 we asked that she be cleaned and her bedding changed as she had a bowel movement and urinated. The nurse (Christina) brought the bedding and pads and asked us if there was anything else we needed. When we said she needed to clean my wife, she informed us that they are not required to change her and as long as family members are present they could do it. This started a controversy which was partly witnessed by the Charge Nurse (Violeta)and Dr Fayad. To summarize, this nurse may be well qualified for the position, I do not intend to attempt to belittle her credentials. However, on this occasion, she displayed a very unprofessional, uncaring attitude towards her patient. These types of incidents reflect poorly on the nursing profession, the health care facility and the medical community and should be addressed in a corrective manner.
