I had signed up for their internet service because I live because I live in an area where there is no internet service except for them. After almost two years of being with them Focus came in and I had called to Hughes Net to cancel my service with them days prior and was told that my service was cut off. A Day later I saw that I was charged for the month of February when it was suppose to be canceled. I called them a second time to dispute this charge and was told that my account was not closed and kept open. They finally closed my account and refunded me $141 and change but on March 10th I called because I was charged $29.34 because I did not close my account before the renewal and they said they will issue me the refund and was given a confirmation number but it's been almost a month and I haven't received anything so I called them back today and they are telling me that now they can't refund my money because I didn't return all the necessary parts which I said I didn't know about any other parts then they said the person who closed your account should have informed you but I was never ex informed and then they said instructions came with the box but it never did. I have already disputed it with my bank and this company is still charging me. All of their calls are recorded as well as documented or at least that is what is being told when you call their customer service. Resolution Sought Refund me all of my money owned and stop adding charges to my card.

I had an acct with Hughes Net last yr. The modem started smoking and I returned it and received a new one which dint work. I made many good faith attempts to call them and get assistance. None of these calls resulted in any attempt to rectify the matter. I also had my son, an engineer, call and he didn't receive any help. I then cancelled my acct as I wasn't receiving any service and returned the modem. This was received by them per UPS confirmation. I was then charged $650.. to my my Credit One Amex card. I protested this charge. They investigated the matter and then upheld my decision. Subsequently Hughes Net has been charging me monthly fees for an acct I don't have. They now have turned me over to collection agency, Media Collections, for $898.67. Resolution Sought I would like collections to be cleared.
