Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

DON'T HIRE SILVER LAW CENTER

I hired Silver Law Center in June 2012 and paid them 2,995.00 to obtain a mortgage loan modification. I was assured that I would qualify. They did not obtain a mortgage loan modification for me nor did they refund my 2,995.00. I live in CT and contacted the CT Dept. of Banking. They issued a cease and desist order and Silver Law Center was ordered to make restitution. After the cease and desist order was delivered the mail sent to Silver Law Center came back to CT as undeliverable. I want to stop someone else from making the same mistake I did.

Effective October, 2009 in California, it is illegal to collect any fees, regardless of the form, for negotiating or attempting to negotiate a loan modification for a residential mortgage. All modification services must be fully completed before any money can be collected. It is also illegal to divide fees or services into components for the purpose of avoiding this law.

HUD approved housing counseling agencies are exempt from this law. For businesses outside of California, please check with the agency that regulates this industry.
