When temperatures rise, relaxing in the pool can be a refreshing way to cool down. Having a pool at home makes it even more convenient to take a dip. If you’re considering installing a pool or spa or thinking of remodeling an existing one, there are a variety
of styles and features available to customize the project to your liking. Nowadays, you can create your own perfect oasis in your backyard.
Business Consumer Alliance reached out to member company
Premier Pools & Spas (PPS) for some useful advice for customers looking to install or remodel a pool. Dennis Carson, President of the Ontario franchise, suggests a customer think about the overall scheme of their yard when contemplating getting a pool.
Customers are asked what their ultimate dream backyard would look like and what would fit their lifestyle in order to create a custom design. If the plans are too big for the customer’s budget at the time, PPS suggests planning the design as the budget opens
up to complete the project over a two to five year period.

While the ideal time to install a pool is before spring or summer, PPS builds pools year-round. Mr. Carson recommends that customers take full advantage of competitive prices between businesses and to look for incentives any time of year. Their company regularly
has promotions that benefit their customers.
Purchasing a pool is a significant investment. Mr. Carson likens the purchase to that of buying a car. Just as you regularly keep up the maintenance on your car to keep it running and in optimal shape, the same applies to your pool. One suggestion for pool
owners, whether they perform their own maintenance or hire someone to do it, is to take a sample of their pool water to be tested in order to make sure the water is clean and balanced. Home testing kits are also available from pool suppliers. Equipment such
as pumps and filters should be checked regularly to make sure they are operating efficiently. Keeping on top of regular maintenance and making necessary repairs will extend the life of a pool.
With over 30 years of experience in the industry, PPS is an expert in providing services that cater to the customer. When asked how they have managed to keep so many satisfied customers, Mr. Carson replied, “Communication is vital. We work for the client.
Any complaint or concern of the customer is important. Our staff is expected to provide customers with a premier experience.”
